GENERAL INFORMATION AND ADVICE FOR WRITERS
We strongly recommend that writers visit the website of the New Zealand Society of Authors for wide-ranging advice and information about writing and getting published in NZ. If you are interested in writing and need general information and advice on how to begin, it is a good idea to look on the Internet or in your local library for books that will help you with the genre of writing you are interested in.
Getting in touch with a writers' group in your region is also helpful. These groups can offer assistance with the writing process, agents and manuscript assessment services.
In general, when submitting manuscripts, two or three sample chapters are sufficient. Submissions should be double-spaced and can be copied on both sides. You should expect to wait up to four months for a response.
Important Note
Please do not submit original versions of manuscripts or artwork. It is Penguin New Zealand's policy not to return manuscripts or other materials to authors.
