Aotearoa NZ Bookshop Day

The Personal Penguin figurine is back for its second year!

Following on from the success of the gift with purchase in 2024, this Bookshop Day a new penguin figurine will be available exclusively on Bookshop Day with the purchase of any two Penguin books from participating stores.

Aotearoa NZ Bookshop Day, run by the Booksellers Association, is a day to celebrate our local bookshops and the integral role they play in our community. The day aims to highlight the cultural importance of books and bookshops, and celebrate the people that bring the two together, our amazing booksellers. From personalised book recommendations to hosting a wide range of literary events, our local bookshops make an incredible impact on every reader’s book collection.

To participate, simply visit one of our participating bookshops on 11 October and buy two Penguin Books to receive your Personal Penguin at the counter.
