Brian Edwards was born in Cork in the Republic of Ireland, but was raised and educated in the North. Having completed a doctorate at Edinburgh University, he emigrated to New Zealand in 1964. He lectured at Canterbury University before entering television as a reporter and interviewer and quickly established a reputation as New Zealand's most formidable interrogator. His 40-year broadcasting career has included the scam-busting Fair Go and his hugely popular radio show 'Top of the Morning'. Brian is widely regarded as one of New Zealand's most respected broadcasters and media commentators. He currently runs a media training company with his wife Judy Callingham. He was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 1999 for services to broadcasting and journalism.
