Granny McFlitter's Eggcellent Easter

Heather has a terrific imagination and the story is like a sparkly Easter egg full of surprises. A rhyming picture book might clunk and thunk but this one chimes as it rhymes!...I think this is the best Granny McFlitter book yet. I highly recommend it.

[D]elightful and bouncy, and fun to read aloud...The illustrations are joyously colourful, with the same lovely textures as the previous books. I loved the variety of pages filled with swirls of water or trees, interspersed with wise use of white space (and bees; I’ll let you find those for yourself!).

If you know Granny McFlitter from her three other stories (and you must meet her, she's a character who brings much pleasure to everyone), you know that she will save the day! How? By her knitting of course. One of the things I love about Granny McFlitter's solutions to the problems she encounters, is that the resolution is kind to the disruptor. The bees are given a lovely new home. The bull is taught to knit...The author, Heather Haylock, is a master at non-contrived rhyme, rhythm and wonderful alliteration. The recurring refrain in each book is now well-known by readers and they chant it aloud boisterously...A delightful, fun picture book to be enjoyed not only at Easter time.
