With these words and more, Emory Hall’s debut poetry collectionfollows the unique anatomy of a river, swelling with loss and grief, and dances with the sacred waters of transformation and motherhood. Full of magic and deep emotion, Made of Rivers will wash anew all those who come to it, uncovering hidden corners of the self, longing to be discovered. It explores the feminine and draws upon Emory’s own wellspring of life experiences, hardships, triumphs, and revelations. Her work sheds light on vital themes of healing and self-care, offers solace to those navigating profound loss, and strikes a chord with mothers, both seasoned and new, who find their own journey mirrored in the pages of her poetry.

Praise for Made of Rivers [Revised & Expanded]

Emory’s poetry is breathtakingly exquisite, a window into the heart. I found resonance, love, and beauty on every page.

Maggie Doyne, author of Between the Mountain and the Sky

Reading Made of Rivers felt like coming up for air and reminded me why poetry is vital to our world. Emory Hall tenderly offers comfort and wisdom for even the most challenging experiences: love, loss and everything in between. You can feel her heart in every piece. I will return to this collection again and again

Allie Michelle, author of The Rose that Blooms in the Night

Like sunlight pouring into your eyes when you emerge from a dark room. Emory's poems are quietly blinding. Luminous. Here, clear water meets fire. The broken heart grows big enough to contain the whole world. And praise it.

Mirabai Starr, author of Caravan of No Despair and Wild Mercy

Made of Rivers is a love letter from the deep sea of Hall's heart to you-a necessary invitation to meet yourself where your heart is, and a testament of the magic that arises when you do.

Chris Ferreiras, author of The Sun Underground

I am blown away by the magic of Made of Rivers and Emory Hall. Emory's words have a way of piercing right through the heart, helping us realize so much of what is felt but cannot easily be put into words. The beauty and grace with which she writes about everything from birth to grief, loss to love, is palpable. This collection will live on my nightstand for a long time

Jordan Younger, author, podcast host, and creator of The Balanced Blonde

The words in this book are so tender and sublime, feelings and expressions of reverence and sophistication, alive with the very soul of poetry. Emory has created a remarkable collection of words from her heart-hive that buzz with feminine warmth, honesty, and depth.

Vanja Vukelic, artist and founder, Merakilabbe

An incredibly gorgeous and thoughtful collection of poetry. Made of Rivers is delicate, raw, intimate, and wise. Emory's words are steeped in truth and beauty, putting words and feelings to so many emotions that often cannot be described. Each piece burrowing deep into your heart, comforting like an old familiar friend.”
