2022 Booker Prize shortlist announced

The shortlist for the 2022 Booker Prize has been announced, with two Penguin Random House novels named this year.

The Booker Prize is a global award for the best fiction titles, awarded each year to one novel that ‘not only speaks to our current times, but also one that will endure and join the pantheon of great literature.’

We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to the Penguin Random House authors who have been shortlisted this year.

These authors have several accolades between them, this year’s Book Prize notwithstanding.

Bulawayo won the 2011 Caine Prize for African writing and was shortlisted for the 2009 South African PEN Studzinski Award. Strout’s past wins include the 1999 L.A. Times Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction, the 1999 Chicago Tribune Heartland Prize and the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

The winning book will be announced at the Roundhouse in London on 17 October 2022 – good luck and congratulations!
