I graduated from university last November and am thrilled to have started my career at Penguin Random House (PRH)!
During my university years, I had several jobs and internships (everywhere from Boost Juice to the Australian Human Rights Commission and Sydney Peace Foundation), which honed my research, writing and analysis skills – all of which are particularly useful in my role as Social Impact Coordinator.
It might sound cliché, but I was attracted to PRH because I love reading. It's one of my favourite pastimes and helps me feel calm. When I saw a job at PRH that combined my academic skills with my favourite activity, I knew I had to apply. Since joining, the warm, friendly and approachable work culture has exceeded my expectations.
During my degree, I became passionate about facilitating incremental policy changes as a pathway to long-term growth and development. I wholeheartedly believe in taking intentional steps towards a sustainable future, much like what PRH is doing.
Diversity and inclusion have been close to my heart since high school. From discussing barriers to equity with friends to my own experiences, I believe diversity requires a structural approach. This means dismantling decades of ingrained racism, patriarchy and heteronormativity in workplace culture, policies and processes. I’m excited to continue the fantastic work PRH has done so far.

Who are your biggest inspirations?
I really look up to Jacinda Ardern and Jamila Rizvi, who have made incredible social impacts in their careers.
Rumour has it that you are a theatre buff – who are your favourite actresses?
I am! As I mentioned, I had a lot of jobs during university, and that also included working with the Australian Girls Choir and Sydney Lyric Theatre. My favourite actresses are Anna Kendrick and America Ferrera!
What is your favourite book and what are you currently reading?
I can’t say I have an all-time favourite book, but authors I love include Sally Rooney, Liane Moriarty, Taylor Jenkins Reid and Diana Reid. I’m currently reading Good Material by Dolly Alderton!
