Adam J. Kurtz (Adam JK) is a Toronto-born artist whose illustrative work is rooted in honesty, humor, and a little bit of darkness. His books and journals, including Things Are What You Make of Them and, most recently, Now What?, have sold more than a million copies in twenty languages. In 2024, Kurtz opened Small Kine Gift, a gift shop and bookstore in Honolulu, where he lives with his husband and their dog.
