Allison Brennan is a former consultant in the California State legislature, who now has fourteen bestselling novels under her belt. She lives in Northern California with her husband Dan and their five children.
Crime fiction, mysteries and romantic suspense have always been Allison's favourites, so it's no surprise that her romantic thrillers, such as Killing Fear, Playing Dead and Tempting Evil, have a dark suspense edge.
But crime fiction is not Allison's only interest. Growing up, she immersed herself in the more supernatural worlds of Stephen King, Dean Koontz and John Saul, unable to put the terrifying, page-turning books aside. Before she even sold her first book, she had an idea of a series based on the Seven Deadly Sins, but that idea was put on hold for seven years as her thriller writing took off.
Now, Allison has launched the paranormal series, beginning with Original Sin and Carnal Sin. The novels are contemporary and grounded in the world as it is today, with the exception of the Seven Deadly Sins who are incarnate demons. When the demons touch someone, that individual loses his conscience and acts on his personal worst sin - to deadly results. Forensics and police investigations also play an important part in the series so while the books are definitely paranormal, they are grounded in criminal procedure.
