Gill South
Book for an event
Gill South has been a business journalist for the past 20 years. She spent 12 years working mainly in London, writing for a number of magazines and national newspapers, including the Sunday Business, the Sunday Telegraph and the Financial Times. In her mid thirties she moved with her husband and baby to Pennsylvania where she was a 'stay-at-home mom' for two years. After a stint teaching journalism at Penn State University and feature writing for the local paper, she and her family returned to New Zealand in 2004.
Gill worked on the launch of the Herald on Sunday as Business Editor before going freelance in 2006. As well as writing a variety of business/money features, Gill has a regular management column in The Business in the New Zealand Herald, edits the Herald's annual series on careers for senior executives, and writes on corporate women's issues for Employment Today.
Gill is married with two boys, aged seven and eight, and her aim is to continue to write about the challenges for working mothers of all ages, empowering them in whatever they choose to do.
