LORI MORTENSEN can usually be found plunking away at her computer on her latest project. The result has been more than two dozen books, including In the Trees, Honey Bees! which won Disney's Internet Group iParenting Media Awards for Outstanding Product and Harriet Tubman: Hero of the Underground Railroad, which became one of Bank Street College of Education's Best Children's Books of the Year in 2008. Lori is a writing instructor for the Institute of Children's Literature, where she helps students explore the world of children's literature and move closer to achieving their writing goals. She lives in Cameron Park, California.
