Phil Ball has lived in San Sebastian since 1991. He has written for When Saturday Comes, New York Times and the Financial Times, and has broadcast for Sky Sports' La Liga programme. His previous books are the William Hill long-listed and GQ Sports Book of the Year Morbo: The Story of Spanish Football and White Storm, the fascinating history of Real Madrid.
