It’s a western with a twist, and they’ll be shooting some scenes on location at the picturesque Grand Canyon. Everyone’s excited to get a sneak peek of the glitz and glamour of show business – especially Caprice!

On set, however, there is high drama with tears and tantrums, romance and a string of suspicious mishaps. Is there a villain lurking behind the scenes, or could the rumours of a curse be true? Alice-Miranda is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery before tensions explode.

About the author

Jacqueline Harvey

Jacqueline Harvey worked in schools for many years but has had a passion for storytelling since she was a child.

She is the author of the popular Alice-Miranda, Clementine Rose, Kensy and Max and Willa and Woof series, which have sold almost two million copies in Australia alone. In 2022, she released a picture book, That Cat, illustrated by one of her former students, Kate Isobel Scott. Jacqueline's books have received numerous shortlistings and awards while her picture book, The Sound of the Sea, was a CBCA Honour Book.

Jacqueline speaks to thousands of young people at schools and festivals around the world, and says the characters in her books are often made up of the best bits of children she’s met over the years. While she is not a twin, like Kensy and Max she does have excellent powers of observation and has always thought she’d make a great spy.

Jacqueline lives between Sydney, Australia, and Queenstown, New Zealand, and is currently working on more Willa and Woof adventures, several picture book projects and an exciting new middle-grade story.

Praise for Alice-Miranda in Hollywood

What a great adventure this is! As usual, Alice-Miranda acts with aplomb and generosity even towards the less than amiable Caprice. How can Jacqueline top this one? Although, I have no doubts given her talent that she can – she knows exactly what her readership loves and provides it time and time again.

Sue Warren, Just So Stories

Jacquie Harvey delights her fans with this sixteenth Alice-Miranda novel. All the enjoyable and familiar elements are present, an exciting multi-layered mystery, with captivating characters, commotions on and off the film set and puzzles for Alice-Miranda to solve.

Rhyllis Bignell, ReadPlus

Alice-Miranda acts with a maturity beyond her years. She is smart and highly confident, so much so that other characters, including adults, trust her and confide in her – a device that keeps the clues coming. She is optimistic and loyal, endearing qualities that make her a positive role model to her readership.
