Praise for Click or Clash?

The biggest problem and barrier to success in life and business is that people simply struggle to connect with people who are not like them. You meet someone and you have an instant connection with them and you could talk all night; equally, you meet people at a social function and struggle to connect, finding yourself talking about the weather and thinking to yourself, How do I get away from here? This is where Click or Clash? comes in, from the highly regarded author Dr Ali Walker. Ali demystifies relationships and the book is full of great practical tips and personal stories to help you create strong connections and relationships.

I have the pleasure of working with Ali Walker at the Change Room program and watching her speak on connection types. I highly recommend Click or Clash? to better your understanding of people and how they learn, understand and react to information. But more importantly, it will help you understand yourself, become more conscious and have better relationships in your life.

After reading Click or Clash?, suddenly the world made a lot more sense. I wish I had this book when I was at uni, in my first job, when I was dating, changing careers, or starting my company. It’s mandatory reading for life, love, or work. I can guarantee that once you read this book, not only will you feel seen, you’ll experience greater agency over your life, environment and relationships and have a new framework to improve them all. When you understand your Connection Type, you move beyond the simple introvert versus extrovert mentality to a scientific but easy-to-understand guide that allows you to better navigate any relationship. Your empathy for yourself and others will go through the roof and you’ll find it hard to take what someone does to you personally, ever again.

As an academic leader I have had occasion to reflect on many different leadership models. It was not until I undertook the survey for Dr Walker’s Connection Type model that I could finally say, ‘Yes, that’s me, I’m a Water type (Ripple Effect) leader!’. The model has provided me with a powerful narrative to speak to how I connect with others, my strengths and my weaknesses, in both my personal and professional life. An excellent toolkit.
