Dr Joanne Orlando is a ground-breaking researcher, commentator and futurist on AI, digital wellbeing and digital safety, who is revolutionising our relationship with technology.
By addressing the social, human and authentic experiences surrounding technology use, Jo helps us navigate the complexities of today’s digital landscape and envisions how we can use tech more meaningfully.
As a regular TV presenter on Sunrise, the Today Show and The Morning Show, Jo excels in making complex topics light and engaging. She popularised new terms like ‘sharenting’ and ‘zombie scrolling’, demonstrating her influence on how we discuss and understand digital behaviours. Knowledge is power and Joanne’s focus is on understanding and providing solutions for adults and children.
Based out of Western Sydney University, her research centres on the teaching, learning and social effects of children’s uses of technology. She examines this focus across all ages (early childhood, primary, high school and young adults) at school, in the home and social spaces.
Dr Jo is based in Sydney and has three children.
