Henrietta

The exciting new Georgette Heyer novel, written by Sunday Times bestselling author Sophie Irwin.

'Loved it... a racing plot and an irresistible heroine' Joanne Harris

Henrietta has loved Arthur, Lord Allerton, since childhood. Painfully shy in Society, only with Arthur – and his lively family – can Hetty be her true, droll self.

Arthur, of course, has no idea. But, now home from the war in France, he is facing financial ruin and family chaos. Hetty knows that any hope of his seeing her differently is slipping away.

So Hetty takes drastic action. Feigning a desire to find a husband, she enlists Arthur’s help to become the Diamond of the Season. But what begins as a harmless deception soon takes on an outrageous life of its own… And it will take all of Hetty’s ingenuity to prevent an entirely unsuitable ending.

'It's heaven . . . Irwin gets everything right, including the sharp intelligence, the vocab, the period detail, the verbal sparring, the charm and the wit. And, obviously, THE ROMANCE.' India Knight

'An extraordinary achievement. I adored every character, every turn of phrase. I laughed out loud and the ending had me beaming with joy. A triumph!' Beth O'Leary

'Loved it... Henrietta is a cracking character... Great fun!' Harriet Tyce

'Beautifully written, meticulously researched, entertaining and compelling... Above all, it’s utterly joyous and a real antidote to these troublesome times. More please!' Santa Montefiore

'Reads like the real thing, with all the drama and period detail that you would hope for from a book by the original queen of Regency romance' The Times
