I’m getting married. He’s perfect! It’s a disaster.

Note to self:

Do not tell future-mother-in-law that you got into Harvard Law School by sleeping with the Dean of Admissions.

Do not sing Beyoncé-style while representing client in major court deposition (actually, that one kinda works).

Do not buy into the social construct of fidelity. But hey, for an easy life, do not let Will find out about all the other men (esp. my boss/his boss/his best friend).

Meet Lily Wilder: New Yorker, lawyer extraordinaire, blushing bride. And totally incapable of being faithful to one man. As the big day dawns, one thing's for certain, Lily's in for a hell of a surprise...

About the author

Eliza Kennedy

Like Lily, Eliza Kennedy attended Harvard Law School, where she was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Like Lily, after graduation Eliza moved to New York where she worked for a prestigious Manhattan law firm. Unlike Lily, Eliza lives happily in New York with her husband and son. This is her first novel, which she was inspired to write whilst at the gym, and describes as ‘the only good thing that has ever happened to me at a gym. Ever.’

Praise for I Take You

I started reading Sunday morning, finished Sunday afternoon, have not laughed this hard or this much at a book since Bridget Jones's Diary. It was wickedly smart, hilariously funny, sexy, clever, and stupidly accomplished for a first novel. In short, the most enjoyable read I have had in YEARS. I completely loved it.

Jane Green

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I Take You is the funniest book I've read all year. I drank four bottles of chardonnay by myself because I couldn't get to a book club fast enough. Eliza Kennedy makes infidelity sexy again!
