About the author

John Agard

John Agard was born in l949 and grew up in Georgetown, Guyana, where he had his first two collections of children's poetry published. He has been writer in residence for the BBC and has had numerous collections and anthologies of poetry, along with picture books, published in Britain since he moved here in l977. He publishes his poetry collections for adults with Bloodaxe. He is married to the writer, Grace Nicholls.
