Love Galaxy

Are you ready to find the greatest love in the galaxy? A Bachelor-style dating show goes intergalactic in this genre-blending sci-fi romance novel: think Ali Hazelwood in space!

In a galaxy far, far away, a trash collector named Temmi lands a spot on a cosmic dating show. The bachelor? An intergalactic space prince. Only two problems: Temmi is falling for his sister. Oh, and people start dying…

Success — and a ticket out of X72, the garbage heap of the Expan Empire — keeps slipping out of Temmi's grasp. An absent dad, a backstabbing ex, and the toxic atmosphere of her home planet have conspired to stick her in a dead-end job, with her brother and mother dependent on her financial support.

Success is Spie’s worst nightmare. She’s the heir to the Expan Empire, or at least she was, until an adolescence rife with PR nightmares finally elevated her introverted twin brother, Nicky. She’ll be free to live as she pleases after just one last act of imperial duty and propaganda: co-star in Love Galaxy, the reality dating show where 24 hopefuls from across the galaxy will compete for the prince and princess’ affections — and to win the dynasty’s favour for their home planets.

When Nicky and Spie’s promo tour interrupts Temmi’s trash route – a job she simply *cannot* lose – she unloads on them in a rant that goes viral. Demure and anxious Nicky is captivated by Temmi’s foul mouth and utter lack of diplomacy, and in an uncharacteristic act of self-indulgence, he casts Temmi as the contestant for X72.

Spie is initially thrilled that her buzz-kill brother has someone he’s excited about on the show, but soon finds it increasingly difficult to suppress her growing feelings for Temmi. Meanwhile, Temmi’s own emotions are a tangle of rage, lust, fear, and grudging respect for the woman she discovers behind Spie’s carefully constructed, devil-may-care mask. But when contestants start turning up dead, and conspiracies begin to swirl around anti-imperial motivations of several contestants, Temmi among them, so much more than feelings is at stake.

In fact, very few of the participants of Love Galaxy have come on the show to find romance . . .

Praise for Love Galaxy

I raced through this book! Come for the reality dating show in space, stay for the murder and sapphic yearning. Readers who love an underdog protagonist, a genre-blending plot, and rich but accessible world building will adore Love Galaxy.

M. Stevenson, author of BEHOOVED

Like the reality shows it invokes, Sierra Branham’s Love Galaxy is so much more than meets the eye. It satisfyingly replicates all the messy magic of the best/worst reality shows, but feeds it through the eyes of Temmi – a consummate outsider whose attitude toward media made in the heart of empire gives readers space to question their own enjoyment.

Micaiah Johnson, author of THE SPACE BETWEEN WORLDS

A shimmering, tantalizing bird cage that lures you in with all the glamour and drama of a reality TV show and snaps the door shut as the game grows twisted. My head is still spinning from all the twists and reveals and I'll definitely be tuning in for Season 2.

A.D. Sui, author of THE IRON GARDEN SUTRA

A thrilling and heart-wrenching adventure full of galactic stakes, brutal choices, and swoony romance! Temmi and Spie crash into each other with the fire of a supernova, and I could not look away! I loved every moment of this wild ride!

Deva Fagan, author of HOUSE OF DUSK

Combine swoony queer romance, rich science fiction worldbuilding, nail-biting political intrigue, and a lovable main character who can’t seem to catch a break, and you get Love Galaxy, the finest romanti-sci-fi this side of the universe! If you’ve ever wondered what an Intergalactic ‘The Bachelor" would look like, this is the book for you. It has the hair-flipping drama, it has the cringe, it has the fake smiles and reality TV star vibes; and running alongside it all is an intricately-woven mystery that uncovers the reality and unreality of class, power, and love. You won’t be able to look away!

Riley August, bestselling author of THE LAST GIFTS OF THE UNIVERSE

Love Galaxy is a wild and witty ride full of feelings, banter, plot twists, romance, and murder. The most gripping reality show since the Hunger Games, it’ll keep your heart racing and the pages turning! I fell hard for this book!

Melissa Caruso, author of THE LAST HOUR BETWEEN WORLDS

Branham catapults onto the SFF scene with a fast-paced space opera debut poised to break you out of your most stubborn reading slump. Love Galaxy is a compulsively readable debut with a unique concept, masterful worldbuilding, and characters that jump off the page from the very beginning. What begins as a fun, punchy tale about a dating show in space steadily morphs into a complex, unputdownable tale about class, privilege, and political nuance. This fun, high-octane read contains, at its heart, a tale that reminds us that beauty and love can exist even in the cruellest of worlds . . . perfect for fans of The Hunger Games, Mass Effect, and bisexual panic.

M.J. Kuhn, author of AMONG THIEVES

Love Galaxy is the best kind of science fiction. Branham's debut is a fast-paced deluge of all my favorite things: complex characters, political intrigue, dating show drama, and gay girls kissing. The kind of book that you'll be thinking about long after you finish reading. I absolutely adored it!

Alexandra Kennington, author of BLOOD BENEATH THE SNOW

Full of heart, humor, and gut-wrenching stakes, Love Galaxy is the kind of book you won't want to put down once you've started. I absolutely adored the blend of sapphic romance, the inventive reality TV show backdrop, a main character you can't help but root for, and a murder mystery that will keep you guessing. I guarantee you'll be clamouring for more!

Kalie Reid, author of THE SACRED SPACE BETWEEN

Sierra Branham dazzles in her sapphic space opera debut. Love Galaxy is a mad-cap mashup of Star Wars meets The Bachelor. Branham’s confident prose takes readers on a wild ride of twists and turns that will leave them gasping. With wonderful world building, memorable characters and a great story of family loyalty and intergalactic intrigue, this is a glorious read and I can’t wait for Branham’s next book

Christy Climenage, author of THE MIDNIGHT PROJECT

A sapphic, snarky, romantic crossover of Love Island and The Bachelor in space . . . I live for that kind of unhinged combination

Stylist

A hugely fun sci-fi adventure—gripping and high-stakes, with a plot I absolutely didn't see coming.

Everina Maxwell, author of WINTER'S ORBIT

Branham's debut has it all: an immersive galactic world, banter for days, shocking plot twists delivered at a lightspeed pace, and a high-stake mystery, all orbiting its brilliant, burning central romance. I'll never miss an episode of Love Galaxy!

Lenora Woods, author of ROLL FOR ROMANCE
