Tyrant's Blood

Valisar book 2

The second book in an extraordinary epic fantasy saga from the million-copy bestselling author.

Ten years after Loethar’s barbarian conquest, the Denova Set thrives under his rule. The empire is prosperous, united – and uneasy. For despite slaughtering Penraven’s royal line, the warlord never claimed the Valisar Enchantment, the legendary power of coercion that would make him truly unstoppable.

The exiled prince Leonel has grown to manhood in hiding, protected by an infamous highwayman. Now Leonel wants more than his stolen throne – he wants revenge. Yet many in Penraven no longer long for Valisar rule, and rebellion threatens to shatter a fragile peace.

As secret loyalties collide and trusted allies risk everything to aid the heir, a darker force begins to stir. The true bearer of the Valisar Enchantment is awakening – and the coming threat will make past wars seem merciful by comparison.
