Staff Reviews: Go As A River

The world is loving Go As A River, so we asked some of our staff what they thought

“I was quickly swept into Victoria’s heartbreak and strength and I was there to stay. This starts off in the 1940s with a young Torie who’s life on the family peach farm has already seen tragedy. Set in Iola which is an American town that was bought up by the government to create the now huge Iola dam. Torie’s quiet strength and her connection to the land throughout her life make this a beautiful read." Paula Pengelly, PRHNZ Sales Representative

“An epic tale full of love, loss and resilience. This beautifully written novelset in post WW2 small town Colorado will have you gripped as the events of 17 year old Torie’s tragic life unfold. From the moment a mysterious and dark stranger enters her life to the final page of this perfectly formed novel, where even the land becomes a character, I felt like I was holding my breath waiting to see where it would all end”. Nic Faisandier, PRHNZ National Sales Manager

“Fans of books about determined women leading quietly unconventional lives will love this book. Bad and sad things happen but somehow it is still full of hope, faith in human nature and natural beauty.” Becky Innes, PRHNZ Director
