A star-crossed lovers romance that spans a millennia, what do readers really think about The Favourites?
We put a call out to our bookstagram community for early reviewers of this beautiful new novel from Laura Steven. Read on to hear their thoughts:

"It's a beautifully told tale and I struggle to express just how much I loved this book because it's so unique, and unlike anything I've ever read. The range of emotions I went through as a reader, from grief to frustration, then hope - so much hope for these fictional characters - kept me invested from start to finish. I also appreciated the author's attention to historical elements, and preserving authenticity of the past lives presented in this book. It was a clever balance between keeping the spirit of Arden and Evelyn alive each time, whilst having distinct differences in each lifetime, and I know I'll be thinking about this read for a very long time."

“I loved this book 🥹 I think they were totally right to relate this The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue because it definitely has the same warm but bittersweet and yearning romance feeling, but it still stands on its own right. I was on the edge of a slump when I picked this up so it did take me awhile to pick my way through but it never had me not wanting to sneak in a few pages before bed, even if I was tired 💕
I adored learning about the characters past lives and all the different versions of each other they had loved. Also that twist of finally knowing what was going on was a total shock to me! I was worried knowing the answer to why it was all happening would disappoint me but it didn’t in the slightest. An absolutely beautiful read that I’ll think about for a long time I think 🥰.”

“First and most importantly: I have never cried reading a book. UNTIL NOW. I finished this not five minutes ago and I am…. floored. Our Infinite Fates is an ode to the type of love that transcends time, that ties souls to one another from one life to the next. It is a tribute to love and loss, to joy and sorrow, and will have your heart breaking in two, only to be sewn back together moments later. (Hence the sobbing, THANKS LAURA)
There is so much I can say about this book but don’t want to spoil it for the rest of you. So do yourself a favour and read this for yourselves! It will live in my head rent free for eons to come (get it) and the plot twists will have you in shambles.”
