About the authors

Patrick Moore

Sir Patrick Moore is a prominent voice in the world of astronomy, having hosted the popular BBC show The Sky At Night since 1957 and writing over 70 books on the subject. He was knighted in 2001 for his services to the popularisation of science.

Chris North

Dr Chris North is an academic at Cardiff University's School of Physics and Astronomy. His research work focuses primarily on Cosmic Microwave Background experiments - particularly the space-based Planck satellite - and is responsible for coordinating UK-wide outreach activities for the Herschel Space Observatory. He is also a member of the team behind Chromoscope - one of the most popular online astronomy applications.
