Love Your Bookshop Day

We’re really disappointed to share that our 2026 Personal Penguin figurines have been delayed and unfortunately won’t arrive in time for Love Your Bookshop Day. 

But don’t worry, you can still secure yours! Purchase any two Penguin books from a participating bookshop on Saturday 10 October and you’ll receive a limited-edition Personal Penguin Book Nook Card, guaranteeing your figurine when it arrives. 

Love Your Bookshop Day, an initiative of Booksellers Aotearoa New Zealand, is an annual celebration of New Zealand's local bookshops and the booksellers who make them special.  

Held on Saturday 10 October 2026, this year’s celebration is all about discovering something unexpected. Visit your local bookshop, ask a bookseller for a recommendation and shake up your shelf. 

From introducing readers to new authors and unexpected favourites to hosting events and bringing communities together, local booksellers play a special role in New Zealand's reading culture. 

The Personal Penguin 2026 figurine is perfect for book lovers and a charming addition to the previous figurines. Celebrating the power of books and reading, this Personal Penguin represents the way stories can shape our lives, bring us together and inspire a lifelong love of reading. 

Purchase any two Penguin books from a participating bookshop on Love Your Bookshop Day to receive your limited-edition Book Nook Card. Keep your card safe and return to the same bookshop to collect your Personal Penguin once they’ve arrived.
