What we're gifting this Christmas

Want some insider intel on the best books to gift this Christmas? Read on for what the Penguin Random House New Zealand team are ACTUALLY gifting!

In order to not spoil the Christmas surprise, we've taken our names off these recommendations, but these are some of the books that we're putting under the tree this Christmas!

I’m giving Wild Walks Aotearoa to my sister! She can do the ‘heck’ tracks and I’ll do the easy baby ones ~ G

My mum and my mum-in-law are both getting Unreel because they both loved Diana’s first book ~ L

Max Meow: Cat Crusader and Detective Beans for my Grandson. Who doesn’t want to read a graphic novel about a Hero with cat-itude?! Also Where’s the Christmas Elf. I love a book that everyone can share on Christmas day ~ P

Because my 9-year-old (who isn't usually a huge reader) loved it, I’m giving Detective Beans and the Case of the Missing Hat to all my nieces and nephews ~ B

I’m gifting my sister (an Ottolenghi fan who cooks often from SIMPLE) a copy of Ottolenghi COMFORT. A bit of a boomerang  gift… I’m hoping she’ll invite me over for dinner when trying out new recipes from it! ~ S

Comfort by Ottolenghi for a foodie friend. They are an Ottolenghi fan and this is such a thing of beauty it is worth sharing ~ P

I'm giving my mum The Fallen Woman this year because she loves historical fiction ~ K

I’ll be giving my Poppa a copy of The Bookshop Detectives for Christmas – he is a huge fan of Richard Osman and cosy crime so I know he will absolutely love this! ~ S
