This is Vicki’s story about her first wild pony, Dandy. She was just 9 years old when the family brought home their first lot of wild horses—two stallions, a mare and a foal. One of those stallions was Dandy. Vicki had to have a lot of patience and courage to earn Dandy’s trust. The family couldn’t afford to buy food for the horses so three times a day they would pick barrow loads of grass from the side of the road.
