Aotearoa NZ Bookshop Day 2024

Aotearoa NZ Bookshop Day, run by the Booksellers Association, is a day to celebrate our local bookshops and the integral role they play in our community. The day aims to highlight the cultural importance of books and bookshops, and celebrate the people that bring the two together, our amazing booksellers.

From personalised book recommendations to hosting a wide range of literary events, our local bookshops make an incredible impact on every reader’s book collection.

To make this year’s celebration even more special, Penguin Books New Zealand is introducing the Personal Penguin.

The Personal Penguin is a miniature, penguin figurine that will be available exclusively on Aotearoa NZ Bookshop Day with the purchase of any two Penguin books from participating stores - see below for a picture.

To participate, simply visit one of our participating bookshops on 12 October and buy two Penguin Books to receive your Personal Penguin at the counter.
